Court Involved Therapy

Starting at $500.00* initial deposit for Case Review. We explain all fees, inclusions, etc. upfront during contract phase and review, during Phase 1 of services.  Financial contractual obligation required for ALL services, NO payment plans.

Treatment of any family may become court involved: when an intact family member separates, after court processes begin. We offer: Court Invovled Therapy, Reunification Services, or Supervised Visitations. Each are UNIQUE services we custom design and implement for your families needs with an additional CUSTOM FILIAL Family Therapy and the TAIM model designed by Dr. Buchanan. 


Dr. Buchanan is a professional member of the AFCC, Association of Family and Conciliation Courts – the premier interdisciplinary and international association of professionals dedicated to the resolution of family conflict.


In addition to two Summa cum laude earned M.A degrees in the school of Psychology and fields of Counseling, she holds an earned M.S. Forensic Psychology in order to understand the vast differences amid counseling within the mental health aspect, and psychology within the legal realms.  This Master of Sciences from Walden University afforded her with an additional focus on mental health applications for pediatric populations and court involved intervention. 


Dr. Buchanan believes in helping teach families to implement growth within the TAIM model and family unit as a whole, with all it's parts working together, when possible, rebuilding proper attachment bonds or re-connecting strained parent child relationships so that parents become a healthy benefit for children and for themselves. 

Play and Expressive Arts Psychotherapy

Ages 2-13. Starting at *$100.00 INTAKE + *$65.00 (30 min); *$85.00 (45 min) sessions. 

Play therapy is a form of specialized psychotherapy that uses play to communicate with and help children to prevent or resolve psycho-social challenges. This form of psychotherapy is a BEST practice model to help children increase various social integration, growth, attachment, human development, emotional modulation, and trauma resolution. 


Dr. Buchanan earned a Summa cum laude post Master Certification in Play Therapy from Capella University. The program is approved for credentials required of the Association of Play Therapy Registered Play Therapist for an RPT-Supervisor.


Specialized Custom designed FILIAL FAMILY Therapy is provided on a solutions focused therapy model for the family unit. Group FILIAL services are available.

Couples and Family Psychotherapy

$220.00 per couple as includes PAIR2 or Arno Profile (either one required) for INTAKE and assessment; $100.00 (45 min); *$150-$165.00 (60 min) sessions.

Family therapy, referred to as couple and family therapy, marriage and family therapy, family systems therapy, family counseling, is a branch of psychotherapy that works with families and couples in intimate relationships to nurture change and development.

Addiction Psychotherapy

The consequences of addiction-to alcohol, nicotine, other drugs, overeating, gambling, internet, sex, spending, and work, among others-range from being mildly problematic to life-threatening for countless people from all walks of life. Fortunately, theories and interventions utilized by our professional counselors and therapists have been tested empirically and found to be effective in treating addictions.

The terms chemical dependency, substance abuse, and addiction often are used interchangeably as are their respective treatment designations: chemical dependency treatment, substance abuse counseling, and addictions counseling.  

The consequences of addiction-to alcohol, nicotine, other drugs, overeating, gambling, internet, sex, spending, and work, among others-range from being mildly problematic to life-threatening for countless people from all walks of life. Dr. Tia Buchanan is also a SC Licensed Addiction Counselor (178), as well as a NCCA Advanced Board Certified Sexual Therapist.

Clients undergo an integrated approach to treating addictions and apply it concretely stage by stage: (a) relationship building, (b) assessment, (c) diagnosis, (c) goal setting, (d) strategy selection and implementation, (e) evaluation, and (f) termination.
